Generally, Tizz & Tonic receives 2-3 big shipments per year of their organic cotton fabric, to reduce CO2 emissions and avoid unnecessary transportation. Moreover, at the little studio in Bremen, they do not have any fabric cutting machines, and the team hand-cuts all of their intimates, further reducing the emissions.
So far, in 2023, Tizz & Tonic had saved over 71 Tonnes of CO2 by supporting projects that plant trees. This amount is equivalent to over 176,000 miles driven in the average car.
No information on this is provided by the brand.
Organic cotton reduces the amount of water needed considerably compared to conventional cotton.
Conventional cotton cultivation ends up in the environment which is not good for the soil due to exploitation and toxic chemicals used.
Tizz & Tonic collections are often “small batch” to avoid over-stock and unnecessary production that could end up in landfills if not sold. Moreover, the company uses fabric cut-offs and the textile waste is brought to a very low amount. Tizz & Tonic never throws away any scraps but instead, they use them for DYI projects or donate to school projects.
By partnering with Greenspark and Get Mads, Tizz & Tonic has helped collect 5,100 plastic bottles by the first quarter of 2023, which is equivalent to over 205,000 plastic straws.
No toxic materials such as pesticides, fertilisers, or genetically modified seeds are used in the growing process of organic cotton
Through Greenspark, Tizz & Tonic supports projects that have a long-term positive social impact. These include the improvement of stoves in Malawi and fighting extreme poverty through tree planting. Fore more information on these projects, you can check here
