Does this brand offset carbon emissions and/or implement circular business practices?

Part of Wild’s profits go towards planting trees to offset their carbon emissions. You can also send them back the casing for recycling with their TerraCycle Scheme.

About The Company

Get the ins and outs

Wild was created in the UK in 2019 and offers refillable, natural deodorants that are considered kind to you, and the planet. The founder’s of Wild share a passion to make the bathroom better by challenging the throwaway culture of the products we use there. With the “refillable scheme”, you can re-use your case again and again without having to throw it away every time. Wild offers 7 natural smelling scents that will keep your armpits smooth and moisturised.

“To produce natural products that actually work, with zero compromise on quality and to be a pioneer in sustainable and natural personal care, acting as a positive catalyst to raise the standards of sustainability across the bathroom.”

  • By end of Q1, Wild had managed to plant over 446000 trees in places such as Madagascar and Nepal.
  • Launched a case recycling scheme with Terracycle.
  • In 2022, Wild became carbon negative by offetting 1.5 times their entire impact.
  • To reduce their products carbon footprint.
  • To continue developing their existing products range and improve the longevity of them.
  • To save over 150 tonnes of plastic from possibly going to landfill (per year).

Analyze their supply chain: from the sourcing of raw materials to the people who make the product

Most of the ingredients are sourced in the UK and those that can’t are sourced from Europe

United Kingdom, Netherlands and France

Case = £12.00

Refills (You must choose multiples of 3) = £21

Soap Trio = £12.99

To minimise their CO2 emissions, Wild sources most of their ingredients from the UK and those that can’t, are sourced from Europe. Moreover, for every deodorant they sell, Wild contributes a percentage of sales to On A Mission, to support their reforestation projects.

Only in 2022, Wild planted 157421 trees in the Wild Forest. Once these trees are mature, they will absorbe 1100 tonnes of carbon dioxide per year.

Since launching up until part of 2024, Wild has planted over 445000 trees.

Wild expanded their partnership with their manufacturer in the Netherlands, which is powered by solar panels.

Wild expanded their partnership with their manufacturer in the Netherlands, who runs a water-less production.

Less than 50% of products used in the bathroom are recycled. Wild’s refills come in bamboo sleeves that are completely recyclable, compostable, and biodegradable, which can be broken down in 6-12 months.

Moreover, the casing is made with durable aluminium along with post-consumer recycled plastic, minimizing waste that most likely would have ended up in our oceans or landfills. Every time you refill your case, you will be saving 30g of plastic going to the landfill.

If you find that you no longer need your case, you can also send it back to Wild for them to recycle it with their TerraCycle scheme, which will avoid further waste in our landfills.

In 2021, Wild prevented 61 tonnes of plastic bathroom waste from being chucked, which is equivalent to the weight of 10 elephants. Moreover, in 2022, 102.58 tonnes of plastic were diverted from landfills (Wild customers refilled their cases enough times to stop this amount of plastic waste going to landfill).

No parabens, aluminium or sulphates are present in these deodorants.
