About The Company

Get the ins and outs

Vesica Piscis is a producer of footwear and accessories that was founded in Spain in 2015. The company has established a “make to order” mentality, meaning that they produce depending on the demand which results in “no stock”. Vesica Piscis has a recycling scheme in place where you can take your old Vesica Shoes to a collaborating store throughout Europe, so your shoes will be recycled to create new shoes.

To produce an alternative and sustainable shoes and accessories brand.

  • Redesigned the concept of the shoes where the consumer can separate the sole and the upper part of the shoes and recycle them.
  • Redesigned the packaging in order to avoid waste.
  • To minimise their water and CO2 footprint as much as possible.
  • Not to generate waste.

Vesica Piscis has redesigned their package by using 50% less cardboard in its production. This means that the cubic capacity for its transportation has been reduced by 86% which equals to fewer trucks needed to deliver, reducing CO2 emissions.

Using recycled cotton emits 0 Kg of CO2 compared to 29 Kg per ton of conventional cotton.

Most of the manufacturing processes are done by hand, helping them to reduce energy consumption by up to 90% compared to conventional assembly. The little electricity the company requires comes from renewable sources certified by Ekoenergy.

When packing the shoes, Vesica Piscis doesn’t use extra paper which they believe is completely unnecessary. By doing this, they save 2 million liters of water per tonne of paper. Additionally, the fact that they use recycled cotton, means that a large volume of water used for growing cotton is saved (4468 m3 less water per ton of cotton produced).

No animals were tested in the design of these shoes.

More than 22,000 pairs of shoes were in production each year where huge amounts of raw material were used and thousands of tonnes of waste was generated. By creating a circular economy, the shoes can be reused in the manufacturing of many other products.

When packing the shoes, Vesica Piscis doesn’t use extra paper which they believe is completely unnecessary. By doing this, they save one tonne of paper for every 34,482 pairs of shoes.

The company currently reuses 95% of the leftover materials and is planning to reuse 100% to not generate any waste.

No chemicals nor added substances are present in the product or packaging. The ink used is water-based ink.
