Sorbas uses cacti as a raw material for the production of their shoes, which services as a natural carbon sink and absorbs a large amount of CO2. They also use organic cotton instead of conventional cotton, which produces 46% less greenhouse gas emissions.

The production of these shoes occurs in Europe, with this SORBAS saves 16350 km per pair during transport compared to a production centre in Guangzhou, China.

Along with Carbonfact, Sorbas has determined the total CO2 emissions of the production of their shoes, including the whole production chain from raw materials to the finished shoes. They found out their shoes produce up to 71% less CO2 and around 11kg less CO2 per pair than comparable shoes do on average.

Cactus is used in some of their shoes: in comparison, 10x more energy is used for leather.

When using recycled canvas and organic fabrics, the production minimizes the consumption of water. Cactus is used in some of their shoes: in comparison, 1648x more water is used for leather.

No animals were used in the production of these products.

The lining of the canvas shoes is made of either cotton or recycled ocean plastic.

Non-toxic materials are used in the production of the shoes (PFC and PFAS-free). They also do not use any herbicides nor pesticides in the cultivation of their raw materials.

Sorbas provides fair wages to their employees.
