What does this brand sell?
Rifò was created in Italy back in 2016 where they turn fabric leftovers and old clothes into new clothing while maintaining high quality. They believe that we should all spread awareness that every action has a big impact on the environment and society while creating sustainable alternatives for future generations.

One of their fundamental values is the transparency of their suppliers: everything is entirely located within 30km as they are committed to making all of the products by limiting fuel consumption, reducing this way the amount of CO2 they emit.
The innovative materials they use for their products consist of recycled materials, reducing emissions. In a one-year production they use 92% fibers from recycled materials and the rest of virgin fibers. For example, they emit 83.5% less CO2 with their recycled cashmere compared to conventional cashmere. The packaging only produces 36.2g of CO2 compared to a plastic bag which produces 100-200g of CO2.
By recycling materials, they also reduce energy consumption. For example, 68.2% less energy is required to produce recycled cashmere compared to conventional cashmere.
By recycling textile waste the amount of water used in the process is reduced compared to conventional processes. Looking at cashmere, recycled cashmere saves up to 65.6% of water compared to conventional cashmere. Additionally, they don’t colour their recycled silk which saves up to 4 times as much water. Regarding recycled wool, no further water is used as the wool is carefully sorted by hand.
No animals were harmed in the production process of Rifò
Currently, around 70% of plastic bottles are not recycled. By using this, along with the rest of the recycled materials, Rifò saves a lot of material from going to landfills. Moreover they are closing loops by using mostly recycled fibers to create new materials, and save these materials from going to landfill. Moreover, they offer a recollection scheme to recycle your old clothing, again closing loops. Lastly, they prevent overproduction and with it clothes landing up on landfill through their pre-sales mechanism to understand the market demands.
No toxic materials are used.
Gender equality and fair job opportunities are respected while contributing to the growth of the local economy. There is no child labour nor compulsory work.
