What does this brand sell?
PlanetCare has been selling washing machine filters since 2017 by Mojca Zupan, in order to tackle the global microplastic problem. Our clothes all contain plastic fibers (e.g. polyester) that get released with every wash. PlanetCare’s microfiber filters ensure that 90% of microfibers are prevented from ending up in our waterways, therefore preventing microplastic pollution. The filters have been independently tested by 4 research bodies and NGOs for their efficiency. Moreover, through collecting all cartridges to recycle the microfibers and refurbish the cartridges they close the loop.
“Stop polluting oceans and our drinking water with plastic and creating a better future for their children.”
Create a washing machine with an integrated fibre filter with a filter that will last for months and catches more than 95% of fibres
Moreover, PlanetCare fights hard to make changes in policies, where washing machines are required to be equipped with microfibre filters. They have been successful in France, where this policy will be implemented from 2025, and aim to convince other governments to do the same!

PlanetCare prevents microplastics that are shredded with every spin of your washing machine from ending up in our waterways, rivers, and oceans. 6 Kg of laundry releases over 700,000 microplastic fibers, which add up to roughly one light plastic grocery bag.
Not only does PlanetCare address the microplastic problem, but they also have a free return-and-reuse scheme for the filters. Not only the filtering mediums with the microfibers that are caught are safely stored and recycled to create e.g. insulation mats, but the cartridges are also reused.
No chemicals are used to create the filter, the filters are only filtered through physical retention.
