HappySoaps wanted to maintain its CO2 footprint as small as possible by avoiding unnecessary transportation of e.g. water that normal shampoo bottles contain. This is also why they decided to locate their soap factory in the Netherlands.

Additionally, to produce one standard 400ml shampoo plastic bottle, around 50g of CO2 emissions are emmited which is avoided in the production of HappySoaps as their packaging is plastic-free and instead it is packed in recyclable packaging made from recycled cardboard or in aluminium .

By using relatively easily recyclable packaging, HappySoaps saves energy that would have otherwise been used to create new packaging.

Normal shampoo consists of 80% water, by taking that out of the product in the concentrated soapbars, you only use the water that you use when showering. By using relatively easily recyclable packaging, HappySoaps saves water that would have otherwise been used to create new packaging.

These products are kind to animals and the planet: no palm oil, and vegan.

There are already 5 trillion pieces of plastic floating around in seas and oceans. By removing plastic from their products and packaging, HappySoaps is avoiding more of this plastic from ending in the water. Moreover, no plastic is used in any part of the production process.

Every ingredient that goes into their products has to meet four criterias:

  1. the ingredient is 100% (micro)plastic-free
  2. the ingredient is sustainably produced and biodegradable
  3. fully vegan
  4. must be free of palm oil
