In 2020 alone, 37,507 tonnes of CO2 were saved by their pack with sustainable lifestyle pledges. Compared to the meat recipes, the plant based kibble create 43% less CO2 emissions. The carbon footprint is noted on the packaging and ranges from 1.9 – 4.4 kg CO2 / kg.
76% of Edgard & Cooper’s carbon footprint comes from ingredients which they are planning to tackle by 2025. Moreover, the emissions coming from their company vehicles constitute less than 1% of their total emissions. The plan is to get these emissions to absolute zero by 2025.
Edgard and Cooper switched to renewable electricity where possible and currently 56% of their locations are powered by renewables (100% at their Madrid, London and Belgium locations of which the Belgium one has 42% of the energy demand). They also offer electric business cars and they want to have at least 15% of the car fleet be electric by 2023.

The salmon is farmed between Norway and Iceland and the farms have strict standards to preserve biodiversity outside of the nets. After harvest the location closes for three months to restore and heal, for example.
Regarding animal welfare, Edgard and Cooper advocate and donate to many dog and cat charities to end their suffering. They set up their own charity to support NGO’s around the world. Over 600k EUR has been raised to finance impactful projects.
