Bamboo textiles are water-saving, bamboo has sufficient natural rainfall and ensures less evaporation. Bamboo can grow anywhere and does not require artificial watering.
For the production of 1 kilo of cotton, 10,000 liters of water is needed, while Bamboo Basics saves more than 7,000 liters of water. On average, a Bamboo Basics t-shirt used 972 liters of water (including rainwater, fresh water and recycles water). A conventional cotton t-shirt uses 2700 liters, which is 64% more compared to a Bamboo Basics t-shirt.
No animals were harmed in the production of these products. Bamboo grows 30x than cotton and the roots remain in the ground, in this way, soil erosion is prevented (prevents deforestation) and provides extra space for growing food, for example. Moreover, the bamboo used is a different species than the one eaten by pandas and does not come from the animal’s natural habitat.

Bamboo does not require pesticides or insecticides. To make yarn from bamboo, 2 types of chemicals are needed in the process. These do not end up in the environment because Bamboo Basics uses Tanboocel where they use a circular process in which 100% of the chemicals used are collected and recycled.
Bamboo Basics ensures safe and good working environments with the payment of a fair wage, no child labour, freedom of association, and supervision of hygiene.
